OUR
3D SCAN SERVICE

With our 3D Scan Service we digitize objects and components of various types, shapes and sizes.

Thanks to over 10 years of experience and optimized processes, it's cheaper than you might think.

FAQs ABOUT
CREATION OF 3D SCAN DATA:

Which objects/items can be scanned?

Whether small, large, straight or curved –we can basically scan any type of object, such as.:

  • complete machines and machine components

  • tools

  • vehicles (cars, campers, vans, two-wheelers, commercial vehicles, buses and much more) and car parts

  • planes, boats and much more

  • medical equipment and devices

  • orthopedic and rehabilitation technology

  • art objects(e.g. sculptures)

  • organic objects

  • Design models (milling, clay models)

Which sizes can be 3D scanned?

By using different scanner models we can almost any size, shape and material digitize.

Do you also offer editing, optimization and further processing of 3D scan data?

In addition to 3D scanning, our service portfolio includes the following services:

  • optimization of the 3D scan data setdData preparation for 3D printing or CNC processing

  • Reverse engineering and creation of a CAD model

  • 3D modeling / CAS styling

  • data synchronization/quality assurance regarding manufacturing tolerances

  • creation of initial sample test reports(EMPB)

What is the accuracy of the 3D scans?

See specifications

Which 3D file formats are possible?

  • Polymesh file types: .obj, .stl, .fbx, .vrml, and much more.

  • CAD / parametric: .step, .sld, .dwg, isam

  • native formats: .ipt, .c4d

Other formats and file types gladly upon request.

How much does a 3D data scan cost?

Thanks to our many years of experience and optimized processes, we can do 3D scans of simple components starting at just €99 offer*!

In general the price for a 3D scan depends on several factors:

  • Size of the object

  • Color and surface texture

  • Amount of undercuts/shading (photo)

  • Location/environment during on-site scan away.

*For an accurate assessment of the effort, it is easiest if you send us several photos of the object from different perspectives in advance.

Alternatively, you are welcome to send us your object at any time. We send es will be returned to you free of charge upon ordering.

Is an on-site scan possible?

We have several mobile scanners and also carry out on-site scans.
Ask us about the options and costs.

How long does a 3D scan take?

The time required depends primarily on the object to be scanned. We can scan small, geometrically simple objects within half an hour.

Large, complex components, vehicles, aircraft - depending on the requirements (without data preparation) - several hours to two days.

THE SCAN PROCESS - HOW IS A 3D SCAN CREATED?

THE RESULT – 3D SCAN DATA SET

You will receive a high quality 3D scan . The content of the file in STL format is the digitized object as a polygon mesh (facet model). No parametric CAD model!

Depending on the application, component complexity and precision requirements, the STL object can be produced using 3D printing or mechanical manufacturing processes. Most of the time, however, reverse engineering is still required .

NOTE

Surfaces can be recorded and digitized using optical measuring systems. However, the internal structure of the components, for example with closed cavities, cannot be recorded using optical measuring systems.
